The campaign is called “Rise of the Elderblood” and it’s set in the northern hemisphere on the western coast of Wisseria, I’m breaking up the world map (that the PCs need be concerned with) into four sections, each section level based and so on. I’m pulling some more of my “Rip-off-history” tactics again here, but this time I’m focusing on 1640’s England, throwing in some Polish history as well as French history. The initial hook is going to be in a transitional state of the world. a war between the pantheons has began – and the people of the world have been forgotten – so the sides of darkness decide to use this to an advantage and begin attacking the people of the world through domination, manipulation and straight out violence. Most of the world is falling into disrepair. So looting, excessive sex, drinking and war plague the lands of most kingdoms. Years have passed and humanity is little more than a candle in the wind. The Elderblood is spirits of the ancient gods (since 4.0 is out, I may bring back some Greyhawk deities) and they reveal to the PC’s the sorry-state of things in the heavens. And will instruct them on how to give the ‘light’ (another word for the good guys), an upper hand in defeating a supremely powerful evil. Through questing, item retrieval, assassination, and the conduits for the Elderblood to put hope back in peoples hearts – they well ascend to godhood (in an earthly context) and save the world from the tyranny of evil. I hope to have the party start a military, train farmers and commoners. Fight alongside with Kord or Pelor on the battlefield. Defend towns from demons and devils. Kill a deity raising the worlds dead. Ect…

I’ve been thinking of a line like “Fight or be consumed by the avalanche of war…”
With these options it’s highly possible that the PC’s will choose and evil path, but I’de urge strategy… earn a powerful place, and betray… the cold knife of faith slicing the arterial weak spot of a dying world; and rise from the ashes and claim the world for yourself. But gods are hard to deceive…

And it’s not all doom and gloom, some cities (like the capital) have been strong in their fight and faith… and without help clerics, paladins, avengers ect… still dig deep within’ themselves and thwart off evil – knowing that if their patron deity still lives, they will be one extra arm of his/her retribution. Kind of like (forgive my inaccurate literation) Paladin: “K Bahamut, I know u busy, I still gots faith, and I’mma protect de’s pepps down here fo’ya while ya fight n’shit.”

Ya follow?

Yeah and it isn’t necessarily all war either. There is going to be a defiant butterfly effect in play. The PC’s actions will not be good nor evil – just have consequences. The ‘light’ (remember good guys) thrives and become more of a wrecking ball in the heavens the more people believe in them and the more general “good” takes place in the world. same with the ‘darkness’ (I’m sure you can figure out who the dark guys are). The more evil, the less faith, the more (in general) fun things like getting wasted, sex, and destruction of private property or snapping the neck of the old woman walking down the shopping district. The more power the evil will gain. Both good and evil sides have relatively similar rewards but in the end… there is no telling if those evil gods will even allow the PC’s to live much less reward them when their ends are met. then what if the PC’s aren’t evil enough, and the good side wins… probably not a good thing.

So that is in short what I’m considering…

I apologize for my lack of comma (,) use and grammatical inconsistency… BUT! BUT! I’ll throw in a few at the end to try to make up for it.

,,.,, , :, , ,,,, . ,;;! ,,, . , , …

there I feel good…

Or i'll just

Post this hilarious literal interpretation of "take on me"

Take on Me: Literal Video Version - watch more funny videos

I'm gunna

(i'm gunna) start writing in this thing again. soon!
